In this episode of EFM Platoon Sergeants Bacon and C’Gar have a conversaton about the different types of job opportunities that exist in the Army National Guard outside of just being a traditional Guardsman. There are even opportunities for civilians to work for the National Guard! Who would have guessed.
A recent brawl at FOB Bacon’s Maintenance Shop sparks an interesting episode about handling stressors at work. In todays world everything is more stressful than ever. It’s bound to happen. People blow up. How are you going to handle those situations?
Mountain Rip-It’s start the show as Sergeant C’Gar attempts to get the mix board right. He spits out an online post to try making point but it might not go according to plan.
This episode is dedicated to the idea of getting promoted or getting out. Some Soldiers just want to show up and do a job and others want to lead. Why do we put that pressure on career advancement on everyone when not everyone wants to advance?
The Sergeants Bacon and C’Gar spend some time rambling on about all sorts of random stuff. Gas prices are high, Technicians get screwed, Soldiers don’t understand what their signing up for, and so little more. The Sergeants have many ideas for upcoming episodes, but this one isn’t it. Learn how to cook bacon in normal work environment mishaps.
For the first time in EFM history a civilian has been brought into the discussions. Platoon Daddy Bacon and Sergeant C’Gar welcome Podcaster & Content Creator Jon (aka Polygon) from the show “Video Game Lounge” on the Creative Brain Candy Network to the episode. Jon unfortunately never got the opportunity to serve but has spent a lot of time around members of the military which over time has peaked his curiosity resulting in a few questions that he likes to ask service members when he has the opportunity. Of course the Sergeants are always willing to chat! Enjoy a few extra minutes of content in this very special episode!
We’ve been hearing a lot of absolutely horrible stories about Stolen Valor lately, so we decided to take a crack at it ourselves. We also cover some of the benefits that Soldiers may receive. Are some of those benefits worth Stolen Valor? It’s hard to say, but we take a little time to talk about what we think of some of those benefits.
Join Sergeants C’Gar and Bacon as they discuss the old term, “One Weekend a Month, Two Weeks a Year”. It doesn’t work that way anymore and Soldiers tend to look at Drill as a waste of time or simply feel that it interrupts their daily lives. Maybe it’s time to look at drill weekends in a different way.
Sergeant Bacon says, “Burn Cigars; not bridges”. It’s been a long time since another Service Member has burned some bridge structure in the Sergeants’ presence, but it has happened and he finds himself frustrated. Fortunately, Platoon Daddy Bacon is here to save the day and make sense of all of it. Well, at least he will try. Supposedly, the moral of the show is to know you surround yourself with. Maybe understand the people that you can get away with taking advantage of and those who you should most likely spend a little extra time making sure you stay on their good side. You’ll never know when you need their help.
Step By step
Ooh, Soldier
Gonna Promote you, GI
Step by step (Ah!)
It’s not the lyrics you remember but it’s close enough for some military humor. In this episode Platoon Daddy Bacon and Sergeant C’Gar talk about the STEP program (which inspires a little singing) and magical memorandums called PPOM’s. The Sergeants focus on a recently discovered PPOM that can get our Soldiers promoted faster than normal which is something they like to see. Get your OCP’s and wallet ready for some exciting stuff if you qualify!
The Sergeants are back for the first episode of 202TOO. This time it’s all about the things that they find frustrating and annoying wrapped up into the first of many. They’re thinking this could be just like “Now This is What I Call Music” but for military pet peves! Topics include unnecessary meetings, different media outlets, last minute requirements, evaluation rating schemes and a few more. Oh yeah! COVID still sucks as we enter year three of fifteen days to stop the spread. Sit back, relax and see if you find some of these topics just as frustrating as the Sergeants do.
After a brief issue with identity, the Sergeants find themselves reflecting on the past year of Eyes Forward; March! Was it another year of dumpster fire or was it 202FUN? We think both. Platoon Daddy Bacon and Sergeant C’Gar appreciate you listening and hope to provide you more content and laughs in 2022.
ENDEX! ENDEX! ENDEX! (it’s not INDEX!, dummy.) Over the past few weeks Platoon Daddy Bacon and Sergeant C’Gar have been performing training exercises that you know of as Operation Mega Pimp. Thankfully, it’s finally over and it’s time to move on with normal training exercises. But first, your Sergeants use this episode to reflect on the Mega Pimp Series.

In the final episode of the EFM Mega Pimping Mini Series Platoon Daddy Bacon and Sergeant C’Gar pay respect to one of the OG podcasts on the Creative Brain Candy Network; Smoking and Drinking in Space and Smoking and Drinking in Capes. As usual the Sergeants have to put their military twist so let them introduce Smoking and Drinking in Military where they cover the 1995 film Major Payne.
Join C’Gar in this once in a lifetime interview with a superstar in the world of gas station cigars, Bacon. Who would have thought that gas stations and convenience stores around the country have so much to offer when it comes to quality machine rolled cigars. Thankfully there are Dog Rocket Aficionados like bacon who can give us all the details.
Sergeants Bacon and C’Gar reflect on how a life in the military also has an impact on their civilian life. Over the last 20 plus years members of the military have spent a tremendous amount of time not only wearing the uniform and conducting training but also serving in combat zones. Either scenario awards a Soldier the ability to create a bond with other Soldiers, also known as brothers and sisters in arms. The connection that is established between those who serve is similar to that of a family. When a single Soldier is lost, it effects us all.

The Sergeants take a quick break before they get back to the shenanigans. After paying respect to Spoiler They Die and The Video Game Lounge on the Creative Brain Candy Network the duo decide to take a quick break before embarking on Episode 35. Mental health and the COVID Vaccine are the hot topics. In reality, the Sergeants have no idea what they are talking about, but hopefully you will take a listen.
Sergeant Bacon knows absolutely nothing about video games while Sergeant C’Gar is the definition of a bad gamer. That doesn’t stop the duo from attempting to create a video game themed episode with the usual EFM twist. Listen as the Sergeants attempt to come up with a few bad ideas for military video games that have no reason to exist.
Platoon Daddy Bacon and Sergeant C’Gar pay respect to another podcast on the Creative Brain Candy Network, “Spoiler: They Die” by creating a version of their own with a military twist. Platoon Daddy Bacon presents a story to you and his battle buddy Sergeant C’Gar a tale loosely based on actual articles of a Soldier who went missing on Ft. Hood, TX some time ago.
The Sergeants hope that you take the time to check out Spoiler: They Die, a phenominal true crime podcast brought to you by the best two Canadian women we know! A special thanks goes out to Spoiler: They Die for allowing the Sergeants to create this episode.
In this slightly shorter than normal episode Platoon Daddy Bacon and Sergeant C’Gar talk about a few of the little things that seem to always be a big problem to those in charge. The Sergeants talk about socks, underwear, shirts, PT belts, haircuts, and even whether or not you are sounding off during a “fun run”.
Sergeant C’Gar finds a bit of zen in a general conversation with Platoon Daddy Bacon. Sometimes it just takes a good conversation with one of your favorite Battle Buddies to relieve some stress and make everything better. Sergeant C’Gar realizes that all the small things pile up and make everything seem like a bigger problem than what it is. Find the 50 meter targets and knock them down.
We couldn’t possibly hold on to part 2 of Cooking with Bacon. That’s right!, Sergeant C’Gar spends another 30 minutes helping you to get to know Platoon Daddy Bacon a little better. What questions will be asked? How will they be answered? Guess you’ll have to listen (please) and find out.
This episodes Creative Shoutout goes to Smoking and Drinking in Capes on the Creative Brain Candy Network. Check out www.creativebraincandy.com.
Excuse the slightly longer than usual episode but this one is special to us. Platoon Daddy Bacon is in Sergeant C’Gars neck of the woods so it’s only natural that they get together and catch up. It didn’t take long for the decision to be made, set up FOB C’Gar and start recording. Where could it go wrong? There was no topic, just good conversation. The Sergeants hope you enjoy listening to this down to earth episode just as much as they enjoyed recording it.
Grab your trusty old cast iron skillet from the kitchen cabinet or gun safe (wherever you keep it) and prepare to learn more than you ever wanted to know about Platoon Daddy Bacon. That’s right!, Sergeant C’Gar spends a little over an hour interviewing your favorite piece of Bacon giving you part 1 of a 2 part series of questions. What questions will be asked? How will they be answered? Guess you’ll have to listen (please) and find out.
This episodes Creative Shoutout goes to Creative Brain Candy and many of the great podcasts that call CBC home. Check out www.creativebraincandy.com.
Sergeant Bacon is feeling good as he gets back from a little league draft meeting just in time to record a late episode of EFM with his favorite NCO, Sergeant C’Gar. The Sergeants make a last minute decision to practice a little bit of NCOES 101 by selecting a few Army related articles in the news and have some good old conversation with those topics. In this episode of Army News, which they will do from time to time, the Sergeants discuss the most recent changes to female hair grooming standards and The Internet of Things (IoT). If you have ideas for future topics make sure you hit the Sergeants up. Details are in each episode of Eyes Forward, March!
This episodes Creative Shoutout goes to Video Game Lounge on the Creative Brain Candy Network.
For the time being, you’ll have to continue enjoying the Eyes Forward; March! Podcast in your favorite brown bombers while the Sergeants continue to work on the finer details around the production of the EFM Combat Thong. Someone (we won’t say who) insists that they be bacon scented.
In this special anniversary episode Sergeants Bacon and C’Gar talk about some of the creature comforts that Soldiers may want to consider when spending some time in the field, drill weekend, or even while on deployment. Nothing is off the table. The Sergeants talk about underwear, t-shirts, towels, sleeping bags, blankets, pillows, lickies & chewies, protective eyewear, and even toilet paper.

In episode 24, Sergeants Bacon and C’Gar talk a bit about Soldier burn out. Comparatively like our vehicles, they only perform well when they are properly maintained and have plenty of fuel. Soldiers are not that much different. What happens when you as a leader or your Soldiers get burnt out? The Sergeants don’t have all the answers, but they do put some thought into it as you can hear in their voices towards the end of the episode… It’s time for a vacation.

Our mission is to have a platform where people feel seen, supported and accepted as they are in their darkest days. To feel normal in the abnormal and to give a voice to the unheard. Please join us in our journey of growth and healing.
Sometimes when Sergeants Bacon and C’Gar sit down to record an episode it goes so well that they go far beyond a single 30 minute episode. In episode 16, Sergeant Bacon allowed for the loyal listeners to get to know Sergeant C’Gar a little better in a 30 minute window. This episode is another 30 minutes of just that. Sergeant Bacon asks questions about music, work, sports, TV, shower time, and suggests that Sergeant C’Gar is amazing at everything he does.

Say hello to Corporal Cat Lady who took a little time out of her busy schedule to introduce herself!
We’re all busy and have a lot going on. We find that it can be hard to balance our time between our work, family and Guard. If you agree with this trifecta, then you’re in for a surprise!
This episode is about realizing that as a member of the military we now have a larger family than what we thought. It’s all about organizing our priorities and balancing our lives. Betwee work, friends, Guard, and your Guard family it can be tough. If we can identify, prioritize, and balance these things we think we will be successful.

There’s only one thing to do when you hear the F-Bomb, drop a deuce and keep moving. As usual Sergeants Bacon and C’Gar catch up before talking about who Soldiers are. For the most part, Soldiers are trained to live outside of society but forced to live within it. Foul language when not appropriate quickly escalates to our favorite past time, talking about sh!t. Is it Britney? Is it Bacon? With a shirt like that we may never know.
In this episode Sergeants Bacon and C’Gar dip their toes into the first leadership issue episode. What makes a good leader? The Sergeants have a few ideas, but are they even on the right track? Only time will tell as they get comfortable with the first installment of Leadership Lake. This is a topic that will definitely require more than just a single episode but the Sergeants need to start somewhere. Stay tuned.

Sergeant Bacon found a suitable Kazoo replacement until he finds something more permanent. This episode starts with a few new bars! #SorryNotSorry
Happy belated Valentines day! We hope you got to do something enjoyable with someone special. If not, don’t worry we didn’t do anything special either. Things get a little weird when we realize that we’ve almost been at this for a year and wonder if we have any anniversary plans.
If something looks a little different then you are paying attention. We moved from using Podbean as our podcast host. Our feed has changed. Hopefully you won’t notice too much change! We are on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, and Spotify Podcasts. You can also visit the Creative Brain Candy website to listen to all of our episodes. The Sergeants Bacon and C-Gar spend a little time telling a few gambling stories. Sometimes you gamble with money, sometimes you gamble with food. Sometimes it’s for fun and sometimes it’s not. Almost all the time it’s not really worth it.
There are resources out there if you hare having financial issues or gambling problems. All you have to do is identify the issue and ask for help.
Breaking Kazoo News: The One Man Bacon Wrapped Bacon Band delivers some sad news.
The mailbag is a bit heavier than normal.
Have you ever wanted to know a bit more about that C-Gar that your enjoying so much? Us too. Platoon Daddy Bacon works on knocking the rust off his career counseling skills as he sits down and has a little Q&A with Sergeant C-Gar. It’s Battle Buddy Copper!
Support for a 2022 calendar is needed. Without you it will never happen!
Maybe…, No…., Maybe…., No, No, We Can’t…., Well Maybe…., Never Say Never!
The Sergeants somehow made it into the new year! Following suite with others, Sergeants Bacon and C-Gar reflect on the past for their first episode of the new year. How did this all start? What where some road blocks? Does anyone care? Only the Sergeants can tell such (un)captivating tales.
Since we didn’t get to say this in the episode:
EFM Podcast is proud to be part of the Creative Brain Candy (CBC) Network. CBC has gone above and beyond in 2020 by supporting and encouraging us while we struggle to put EFM together. They have given us the opportunity to implement our ideas, execute, review our results, alter our ideas and repeat multiple times. We have more work to do and will continue to March with our Eyes Forward. We are grateful that CBC is here for us and we look forward to what the future brings!

Sergeants Bacon and C-Gar quickly talk a little holiday ritual before diving into a conversation about the annual Periodic Health Assessment. The story gets cut short….
Stay safe, stay positive…. Enjoy the holidays. We will see you again next year.
The sugar cola’s are kicking’ in and wearing off as Platoon Daddy’s Sergeants C-Gar and Bacon talk about our future Officer leaders better known as Cadets. Who are cadets and why are they so important? The Sergeants talk about how NCO’s have the greatest ability to effect our future leaders by how they treat and mentor our Cadets of today.
We’ve all been waiting for Sergeant Bacon to debut his first hit Kazoo single and it’s finally here. It’s not what the episode title implies but might hint to an upcoming single. Every car needs a Kazoo, let’s make it happen #EFM nation!
The Sergeants touch on show improvements external evals, stress in training senarios and who’s next.
Thank you for sticking with us as we figure out the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
Sergeants Bacon and C-Gar can’t speak properly. Where’s the damn Kazoo! (It’s coming) Sergeant Bacon gets excited when he injects a few sound clips. Editing a podcast does suck and Sergeant Bacon doesn’t even know the half of it. A little bit a politics before going down memory lane as they talk about a deployment exercise (DEPEX) in which they participated in during Senior Leader Course (SLC). Somewhere in the middle you will find a magical #COVIDKaren story!
It’s October and time for some physical fitness! Sergeants Bacon, C-Gar, and Vegas talk about the new Army Combat Fitness Test. A new version of the FM 7-22 which gets them talking about the current published standards to pass the test. Sergeant Vegas talks a little about the Occupational Physical Assessment Test (OPAT). Will the ACFT replace the OPAT?
Do you have a topic that we should cover? Head over to creativebraincandy.com and click the link to join us on Discord or shoot us an old fashioned e-mail at podcastefm@gmail.com and let the Sergeants know.
Sergeant Bacon hi-jacks the entire episode with is hatred for Discord which is one of the few ways to tell us we suck! Sergeant C-Gar tries to correct the path of this episode and fails miserably.
Everything about this episode sucks as much a social media, but we have to accept the fact that it’s too late to fix it now!
Two and a half hours of recording and this 30 minute episode is what you have to attempt to listen too. Our counseling statements are on the Lieutenants desk!
We’ve done a bit of trouble shooting and hope to never produce this inferior type of content again!
Skip this episode and listen to “Spoiler: They Die” on the Creative Brain Candy Network. You’ll be glad you did!

Sergeants Bacon and C-gar reflect on the show. Maybe it’s time to update the format. Sweaty C-Gar explains why you shouldn’t go commando. The retention tree is key! It’s your job as an NCO to build future leaders. Passing the buck is the wrong answer. Apologies and what to expect going forward.
Where is episode 3B? FOB Cigar has been devastated by by natural disaster. Editing has been moved to priority level 2 resulting in a missed time hack. Sergeants Bacon and C-Gar make the last minute effort to provide some unorthodox content. They record for two hours covering so many topics that it can’t be covered in 30 minutes. Interim content has been created called “What About Anything”, a single 30 minute(ish) episode covering a topic or two that can be used as last minute ammunition at any time. This week; Meals Ready to Eat (MRE).
Shoutout to Simply Stogies Podcast which Sergeant C-Gar is a huge fan boy of! Stay Smokey Friends!
For the first time Sergeants G-Gar, Bacon, Vegas and Donut appear in the same episode (and it’s a sh!tSh#w). Find out what their favorite Sci-Fi movie of all time is before digging into Military (bad) habits. Nicotine and Alcohol within the service start this conversation which will ultimately lead to more as they always do! Is it OK to curse?
Special show shout out for “Smoking and Drinking in Space” or (SADIS) on the Creative Brain Candy Network! Apparently, they are getting SoST? It’s a Star Trek thing if you’re into that kinda thing. Check’em out!
Sergeants C-Gar and Bacon are joined with guest host Sergeant Donut as they continue their discussion on After Action Reviews (AAR) and discuss “Receiving The Gift”.
Special show shout out for two shows, “Catobophobia” and “Spoiler They Die” both found on the Creative Brain Candy Network!
Eyes Forward; March! is now on Podbean, Spotify, Google, and Apple podcast platforms.
In part two of episode one Sergeants C-Gar, Bacon, and Vegas continue their conversation from part one ending in a few opinions about experience and age gaps in the ranks.
